Sometimes, life hits a snag.
Despite all our pictures and words and daily 'visits' with each other, most of us lead lives separate and apart from our blogs. And I think it works best that way. Blogs, at least for me, are a form of escape. Escape from the hum drum. The boring. The daily grind.
So underneath all this escapism drifts my reality. And the reality is that sometimes life hits a snag. Sometimes life isn't fun. I'm not venturing into a self confessional post, other than to say I've run a little dry creatively. Most of my waking energy is funnelled in other directions, and I'm taking a break. Not sure if it will be a day or two, or longer. Mostly because I don't know how long it will take to work out this particular snag.
But wish me luck. I do hate snags. And I do love blogging.

Totally understand. Enjoy your break and I will be here when you come back--no matter how long!
take a siesta, it's good for the soul. Your blog will still be here when you get back !
we'll still be here when you get back! refresh!
Oh Liz,
I totally understand where you are coming from. Sometimes life's just a bit too exhausting and trying to think of something witty and creative to write about just seems like a pain instead of fun.
Take a little(i hope) break and I'm sure you'll start feeling the creative juices flowing again.
I totally understand where you're coming from. I've been in the rut latey myself.
I hope you return refreshed and renewed!
Completely understand this! Take a break! :)
Huh. I just posted pretty much the same thing on my blog. I hope we meet back up on the other side of our snags...and I hope it's sooner, rather than later.
Hugs.
I hope the snag gets worked out quickly and you come "back" feeling rejuvinated!
I hope you *snag* is little rather than big. I, too, was just talking to a friend today about blogs and that to each person they have a different meaning and use personally. Whatever you have run into, may it be gone soon and we will see you on the flip side.
It's summer. You deserve a vacay from the blog. Enjoy the beauty around you and I'll still be here when you're ready.
Hope you get over your "snag" soon cause I love your blog and seeing what you have to say. We will be here when you decide to return.
Yep, you've met with understanding here in the blogworld. Everyone hits a snag, a run, a bump or some reason that causes pause, a little break from our writing, posting, and sharing.....alright, even inspiring. Looking forward to seeing the swing back in your step.
Suzanne
well said.
sometimes we need the snag to see things more clearly.
found you through lola b....hope you unsnag quickly
Your post brings up interesting questions about blogging. I do wonder how long people can keep up with them, unless it becomes truly a daily journal. It does take a lot of creativity, which is fun, but then recharging is definitely needed. Please enjoy a change, and less computer time! But we'll miss your blog.
I'm wishing you luck and a quick return to blogging.
Have a good break!
Rosemary
I pray God will encourage and refresh you, even in the midst of your snag.
Blessings,
Shilo
Been there. Just recently as a matter of fact. We'll miss you.
I know what you mean, except for the fact that I frequently whine on my blog :) Good thoughts to you.
Praying for you. Hope your little snag clears up soon. Mabel's House is my escape, even if all I do is look at sweet little Mabel's face. Always makes my day. Any more chapters of Mabel vs the couch? Always love those. That Mabel, she is such a character.
I heart you. Don't leave us forever please and thank you. :)
I've hit one too, and totally understand. I've been feeling blue lately, and trying to figure how to make it fit: blogging, living life, and getting snagged. Thanks for the honesty!
Praying for you! Hope you come back soon!
Hope the snag can be repaired.
I hope everything works out for the best!
work that snag out! take all the time you need, just dont leave us hangin' too long (says me who has been going a week between posts, im workin' on it!)
Hi Liz...LOVE your blog and your dear little Mabel!! I don't have a blog to be creative with..BUT..have JUST (reason, unknown??) gotten back my 'creative juices' to work on some chenille pillows...a break HELPS! Love, Valerie up in Manitoba xo
We'll miss you!
I am so sorry. Even more so because I haven't been the most faithful reader lately, life has just spun out of control around here.
But I am back to blogging myself finally and I will definitely miss your posts for as long a break as you take.
P.S. I need your address yet again....
Everyone needs a break, a recharge! :)
I'll still check here daily, I can't help it!
I'm sorry to hear about your snag. I understand how they can dry up the creativity and the ability to blog though. So here's hoping to seeing you back soon; mostly because that will mean things are on the upswing for you.
Go and see Harry Potter tomorrow night at midnight, put m & m's in your popcorn when you get there. Take a personal day off from work on Wednesday and do something Summer-ish (should probably involve watermelon and suntan lotion...) You'll be right as rain in no time. xo xo
Take your time, I will be here when you get back. I'll miss you though. :)
I know exactly what you mean! Take as long as you need!! We'll miss you while you're away.
I hit snags all of the time, especially this summer. Take a break and enjoy it!
Hope everything's OK. We'll miss you while your on your break. Talk it over with Mabel, maybe she can help.
I do love blogging too. I imagine it is even more fun for you because you get so many comments. I do find though I am so much happier living in the reality of life rather than the blog world. I've had to limit my computer time for the sake of preserving and strengthening my most vital relationships... the real ones.
Liz -
Snags, my dear, are how we learn, grow and be better.
no fretter
I took a break the last 2 weeks. There is just not enough hours in the day to fit everything in. Hope you enjoy break!
Hey Liz,
It's been a while since I've said hello. Funny I haven't bloged in over 2 weeks. I was starting to feel the blahs too. I know whatever it is that you are going through, you will come out of it. Sometimes these things take time. So take all the time you need to mend and then come back to us here in blogland.
Take care,
Lisa
many of us have been there... best if luck mending your snag :)
I think we all understand what you're saying. Take all the time you need. I'll still check back on a regular basis... just in case ;)
Hope all is well. I'm going to check back later. Enjoy your break :)
We all encounter those snags in life, said a prayer for you, and we will be missing you in the meantime. Jackie
We all understand. You do so much that is creative..something has to give. See you soon!
Taking time for you is SO important! Good for you! Enjoy it!
ACK! I don't read your blog for a while and I come back to this! But I totally understand. You may find yourself refreshed and reinvigorated, and you may find yourself heading in another direction. Either way, I'll be happy for you. :)
So pretty and bright!

Hi Liz. Just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you. Life is full of snags...I pray that this one will pass quickly. Enjoy your break! - Sunshine
I really, really hate snags. I had some earlier in the summer, so I completely get it.
Even if you're not writing, I do hope you'll still be around for a visit every once in a while.
We'll see you when you get back - rested and creative again!
I do wish you luck! Been there.
Enjoy your break. We could all use one now and again. I'm always amazed at how often you blog so don't worry about missing a few days we'll all still be here. Take care! :) -Jackie
These are my FAVORITE flowers. We had orange ones last year, I wonder where I planted them now that I think of it.
Take a relaxing break! It'll all come back to you soon I'm sure.
I found a blog and I thought of you instantly! It's called SavethePinkBathrooms.com and they want photos of pink bathrooms to showcase. Yours is so cute, it needs to be on there!
I hear ya! It's ok to take a break from time to time. And like others have said, we will be here when you get back.
(I love your pictures of the flowers! Did you digitally altar them or is that the way the lighting naturally had them turn out? Beautiful!
I feel ya! I think I've been in this same snag for MONTHS! Too many things going on, not all good, and sometimes it just felt like my energy was being drained before I could even get started in the mornings.
Take your time and come back when you feel like it. Don't let it become a chore. That's what I did and the more I didn't "tend" to my blog, the worse I felt and the worse I felt, the less I blogged. Talk about your vicious circle. lol
Anyway, hope it all comes together for you and you're feeling yourself again soon.
Kari
I will also be here when you return!! I hope you enjoy your break. Make sure you relax and spoil yourself lovely lady!

Saying a prayer that your snag is short-lived. Best wishes, Liz.
Liz,
Have you read the "Artist's Way"?
It really helps me tap into my creativity. Needless to say, I need a dose of it right about now.
I hear ya... it's been like that for me too. Not only has my computer been on the fritz (I'm on hubby's), but I haven't had anything to say... nothing witty or sweet or even cute. Maybe it's the summer weather or maybe it's ... well, I don't know, but I think your last few posts were wonderful because they cheered me up. Then again, they always do :)
Go kiss your cute hubby and watch movies. That's what I've been doing ;)
hugs,
rue
Here's hoping you are snagless soon. I'll miss your posts whether it's a day or a month break.
Please don't be gone long.......we will miss you and your wonderful stories and sense of humor!
Gosh, i'm definitely missing you. I hope you'll be back soon, feeling rejuvenated...and appreciated! Go and do more thrifting...that always perks me up. :)
I think everyone who blogs understands this. I know I've gone through it and am actually going through it somewhat now. I enjoy your blog and the little glimpse I have of you--it makes me want more. We'll be here waiting when you get back. No pressure though. :)
Liz, take care of yourself! That's all anyone can ask of you!
Write about the life you live not live the life you write about.
You've got the right idea.
We'll be here when you get back. Please give Mabel a scratch behind the ears for me.
Liz, Whenever you think your house looks mixed up check out this super cool cottage. it belongs to Dear Daisy Cottage's sister.deardaisycottage.typepad.com/daisy_cottage/2009/07/my-sisters-house.html
Hopefully that is the address that will take you to the cutest vintage/retro/modern/beach house had a baby.
Janet
know that you are missed! though I completely understand and relate! :)
I know what ya mean sister. I have actually become a fairly infrequent blogger since putting it in perspective... it kind of took over my life for the first two years.
Glad you got a break! Beautiful shoes darling. Beautiful little shoes. And remember Judy Garland's most famous shoes? Click them together three times and repeat what you know to be the truest thing and then go from there.
My word verification for this comment is "hootie." Just thought you should know that.
