Plotting Thanksgiving, Part II

Don't you wish you could spend Thanksgiving in this little aqua bed and breakfast? With golden leaves rustled outside your window?

Yep sounds good to me.
But then again, I'm pretty stoked about Thanksgiving at my house. Especially since Rebecca has her own digs here in town and we can use her kitchen too.

On my recent trip to Mountain View, my family and I made the rounds to the antique stores on the court square. If you live within driving distance, I highly recommend a Saturday shopping excursion.

Anyway, while shopping I found this little plate for $1. It's a Paden Pine Cone patterned dinnerware, and it is noootttttt cheap. But I'm thinking I'll be able to find something comparable at a flea market, maybe dishes with wheat patterns instead? This holiday stuff is fun, isn't it?

Thinking about where we wish we could spend Thanksgiving got me to remembering Thanksgivings spent at my grandparents' farm. It's been over 30 years since I enjoyed one of those. They were the best. So thankful for the memories...

Liz....Been a lurker of your blog for several months. Great style and witty banter! There is a vintage two-tier serving platter with a wheat pattern on Ebay that might work great for your T'day table! I was tempted myself, but resisted the impulse. Hope you'll post pix of your holiday table. Have a lovely T'day.

My mom has ripped out her good ol' Arkansas map and trying to hunt down Mountain View even as I speak! We are such suckers for long day trips to flea markets!! Wow. It looks like it's a good 13-14" from where we live on the map. We'll have to get up extra early! Is it worth it?

13 to 14 hours? Ehhhh... that's a pretty long trip. :)

If you could do it in a day, it would be worth it on a Saturday when all the shops are open and the court square musicians are playing.

PS. If you do go, dont miss the Rainbow Antique mall in the old movie theatre.

You know your a thrifter when you can find a single, lonely dish and it changes your whole life. I found a heath dish that is a yummy stoneware dark brown pattern. Super simple but once I had one I knew I had to have more. And I need a set of dishes like I need......

My grandmother had a set of dishes like that in the early 60's. Don't know what happened to them.
